Late post: new design!

We updated the front page of Fuzzyshot and added a new settings and manage page. To change your blog title and profile information, click on the settings link and then go to the manage tab.

Eventually we want to add something like a "dashboard" which will become your internal home page.

You may have noticed that we removed the featured post section on the front page. We have so many users now it's hard for us to pick just a handful to feature so we decided to take it down for now. More cool stuff is coming soon, we promise. Stay tuned!

share!

1) All photos are now share-able by email. If you click on the "email" link above each photo, you can share it with up to 5 of your friends and family. So instead of having to log into your email account, copy, paste, send; we thought we'd do it all for you!

2) Our hearts go out to those who were affected by hurricane Ike. Thanks for uploading photos and letting everyone know of the situation over there. We hope that everyone is safe and things are under control.

Mean Comments Be Gone!

We just added the ability to set a restriction level for comments. There are three choices:

1. Anyone can comment on my photos
2. Only registered users can comment on my photos
3. No one can comment on my photos

We also have an additional option to let you approve every comment before it appears on your blog. If you decide to moderate comments, we recommend turning comment email notifications on so that you will know when you receive a new comment that needs approval.

You will find these new settings on the accounts settings page. Log in to Fuzzyshot and click on the settings link in the upper right corner.

Please let us know if you face any issues. We appreciate the feedback.

iPhone OS 2.1 Update = faster camera!

For those of you that haven't upgraded to iTunes 8 and iPhone OS 2.1, we highly recommend it. Not only does this update speed up synchronization times, reduce the number of dropped calls, and extend the battery life of your iPhone, it also speeds up the camera utilized by Fuzzyshot.

The time it now takes during "Saving Photo..." has been cut down by more than 50%. Try it out.

If you take a landscape photo now, the preview is no longer zoomed all the way into the left side of the shot. Great!

Please let us know if you face any issues with Fuzzyshot after updating. Your feedback is critical in helping us make a faster, more stable application.

Thanks.

Time zone + email subscriptions!

For those of you that have the new version of Fuzzyshot (version 1.0.2), all of your times should now reflect your time zone. If you are still seeing a "PDT" next to all of your times, that means you need to log out and log back in through the application.

If your time is incorrect, please let us know by sending us an email at contact [at] fuzzyshot [dot] com. Please tell us your username and the time zone you are in so we can troubleshoot.

If you have daylight savings time, you may need to log out and log back in to update the time on your blog.

We decided to make all the times relative to the owner of the blog because partying at 1 a.m. should be partying at 1 a.m., and not 2 p.m. :)

We know it's hard to get your family and friends to keep checking your blog so we set up a simple email subscription service. Now people can subscribe to your Fuzzyshot for either daily or weekly updates.

Daily subscription emails are sent out at midnight and weekly subscription emails are sent out at 1 a.m. on Mondays (to let you take plenty of pictures over the weekend).

Please note this feature is still very much in beta mode so it's a work in progress. If your family or friends experience issues with this please let us know.

Subscriptions are only for public photos and do not require approval. Later on we'll let you choose which of your subscribers you would like to grant public and private access.

Cheers!

Disk issue around 5 a.m.

We ran into some disk issues around 5 a.m. but things should be back to normal. We apologize for the inconvenience. Hopefully all your photos are queued on your phone and will upload normally once you open Fuzzyshot.

Advertisements

I hope everyone had a great weekend with the newly updated app. We've been really anxious about the update for awhile now, so we're glad that it was finally made available.

You may have also noticed that we've placed advertisements on some of our pages. The reason we've done this is so that we can continue to offer our product for free to our users. At the same time, we hope that the ads actually produce useful content and display relevant information for people looking for it.

This is a bit of a trial-run for us, so ads may move around or alter in appearance in the coming weeks; please bear with us while we establish a permanent solution.

Anyway, if you have any comments about the advertisements, please comment below or send us an email.

Thanks!

Version 1.0.2 is available on the App Store!

We just released a new version of Fuzzyshot with two new features:

1. Upload existing photos from your camera roll

2. Automatically show or hide your map location through the settings page

For those of you who have been with us since the beginning, you know how much thought we put into deciding whether or not we should add the ability to upload photos directly from the camera roll. You can read our blog post about it here.

As you can see, this feature is now a part of Fuzzyshot. We believe it's a good thing to give our users more power and flexibility in how they use Fuzzyshot. We are certain that this is something that will only make Fuzzyshot an even better experience.

Please note that we chose not to allow uploads from the general photo library because we don't want non-iPhone photos making it to the site. (Thanks to simplykent who pointed this out to us.) By blocking photos from the general photo library, we're maintaining the mobile spirit of Fuzzyshot.

Also note that if you decide to upload a photo from your camera roll, we do not take your location. As of right now, there's no way for us to get location information from your camera roll.

So if you want that little MAP PHOTO link to show up, you will have to take photos through Fuzzyshot.

The new setting for showing or hiding your map location will come in handy when you are at home and you don't want people to know where you live. That's all there is to it.

As always, we would like to hear what you think. Please leave us a comment below or send us an email at feedback [at] fuzzyshot [dot] com.

Duplicates Fixed

We were noticing that some users were getting the last photo of their previous post uploaded as the first photo of their next post. This issue should be fixed now. Basically we check to make sure that the same photo cannot be uploaded twice in a row.

Thanks: scottr, alex

Cheers.
